Thailand Government's Repatriation of Uyghurs to China is a Crime Against Humanity!
As the International Union of East Turkistan Organizatıons, we condemn in the strongest terms the inhumane act carried out by the Thai government on Thursday, February 27th. 48 Uyghurs, who had been held in deportation centers for 12 years, were repatriated to China while their judicial processes were ongoing in Thai courts, in a clear violation of the fundamental principles of international law and human rights conventions. This decision has stained Thailand's reputation in the international arena and opened deep wounds in the conscience of humanity.
No economic gain, no political calculation, no dirty diplomacy can be more valuable than the lives of 48 people! The Thai government is directly responsible for any torture, persecution, and death that may befall our repatriated brothers. Every state that surrenders Uyghurs to the bloody hands of genocidal China and remains silent in the face of this situation is an accomplice to this genocide.
The Uyghur people are not only under the oppression of China but also face the betrayal of collaborators who turn a blind eye and bargain human rights for their own interests. The oppressive and genocidal policies of the Chinese regime against the people of East Turkistan have now crossed borders, thanks to corrupt politicians and interest groups. Today, no East Turkistani is safe anywhere in the world.
We are faced with a regime of oppression that buys consciences using its economic power and disregards international law. The sending of 48 Uyghurs to death today clearly demonstrates that the steps and approaches of no country, especially Turkey, have been sufficient. This silence, this inadequacy, means being a partner to all kinds of torture and death that will occur. True brotherhood is shown in difficult times, not in words. Therefore, we call for the following regarding this inhumane and unlawful act of the Thai government:
-
We call on all countries, especially Turkey, to demand an immediate explanation from the Thai government regarding this situation and to strongly condemn this attitude of the Thai government that disregards international law.
-
We call on all human rights institutions and civil society organizations to take urgent action (protest) against this unlawful act of Thailand.
-
We demand that the International Refugee Commission, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and all states take concrete and effective steps against China.
-
We want the fate of the repatriated Uyghur Turks to be closely monitored and international pressure to be exerted on China for their immediate release.
-
We call on the International Refugee Commission, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and all states to strongly condemn this inhumane act of the Thai government.
