The 48th Foreign Ministers Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will be held on 22 March in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. During the meeting, Islamophobia, Afghanistan, Kashmir, and Palestine will be discussed. OIC is an organization based on the common goals of strengthening the Muslim states that gained their independence from the Western colonies, the independence of Palestine, and the protection of the rights of oppressed Muslims all over the world.

The organization has repeatedly called for efforts to protect the rights of Muslims in East Turkistan during and after its establishment. Unfortunately, oppression in East Turkistan has recently increased and reached the level of genocide. In the same period, the organization and its member Muslim states remained silent on East Turkistan and accepted China's application for observer membership. On top of that, the participation of the Chinese Foreign Minister in the meeting as a speaker is a big mistake and a sad situation in the context of the organization's founding purpose and obligations.

Today, in East Turkistan, on the border with Pakistan, the religion of Islam is being removed from people's lives. Many mosques were destroyed, the Koran and religious books were burned, scholars were arrested or killed, religious practices were banned and criminalized. Concentration camps were set up to drive East Turkistan Muslims away from Islam, and brainwashing and de-Islamization policies were carried out. In the region; human rights violations and religious hatred are on the rise; including forced labor, confiscation of property, violence against women, depriving children of national identity and religious belief, prohibition of Hajj, Islamophobia, and restriction of contact with Muslim countries. All these crimes are committed directly by the occupying Chinese regime, in a planned and systematic way.

At the same time, it is an unacceptable and inappropriate attitude that even the OIC, the most authoritative institution of the Islamic world, does not take effective steps towards East Turkistan Genocide and invites the Chinese Foreign Minister to private meetings. While Western countries condemned China's genocide in East Turkistan in terms of human rights, the Islamic world or its organizations remained passive and silent. This silence gives China the opportunity to justify its crimes and continue the persecution with greater courage.

As the International Union of East Turkistan Organizations; We remind that China is trying to increase its influence in OIC and Muslim countries in order to cover up the East Turkistan issue. Also, we call on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, at the meeting to be held, to urgently discuss the issue of aiding the Muslims who were subjected to genocide in East Turkistan, next to Islamabad, to send observers to East Turkistan, not to be deceived by the fraudulent policies in China, and to take effective decisions to stop the genocide.
